She was predeceased by: her significant other Stanley E. Kurtin; her husband Al Dobson; her parents, W. J. Morris and Martha Pozyczka Coogan; her sister Helen Coogan; her half-siblings, Carol and Jack; and her great grandchild Hope Margaret Kurtin.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Kotzur, Michael Kurtin, Darby Kurtin (Terri), Gwen Russell, Wendy Everson (Tom), Kurt Kurtin (Karen), Helen Kurtin (Brenda Kingen), Roger Kurtin (Diana), Jerry Kurtin (Amy) and Ronald Kurtin (Sheila); her stepdaughter Kieran Baker; and her half-brothers, Joe and Dale Morris. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her alma mater, Incarnate Word Academy School, 609 Crawford St. Houston, Texas 77002, in memory of Barbara Coogan Kurtin.
