He was predeceased by: his wife Rosa Elias; and his parents, Damasio Elias and Alfonsa Hernandez. He is survived by: his children, Laura Elias (Martin), Jose Elias (Ana), Thelma Padron (Jose), Mario Elias (Aracely), Blanca Ramos (Jose), Teresa Elias and Luis Elias (Crystal); and his granddaughter Karina Ramos. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren.
