He was predeceased by: his father Clemmie Calvin Ryder; his brother Robert Ryder; his parents-in-law, Johnny R. Kilpatrick and Marion; and his adoptive father Douglas W. Runnels Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Paula Kilpatrick Ryder; his siblings, Archie Ryder (Karen), Calvin Ryder (Gail) and Charlene Cannon (Jerry); his adoptive father Darin Runnels Ryder; his grandchildren, Jeremy Ryder, Justin Ryder and Jenna Ryder; his great grandchildren, Willow Ryder (Critter), Orion Ryder, Theo Ryder and Jackson Blackwell; his siblings' children, Camden Ryder, Kyle Cannon, Chad Kilpatrick, Ryan Beshears, Matt Maurins, Suzanne Galindo, Kristina Hillburn, Jennifer Smith, Kendra McDowell and Katie Ryder; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Kilpatrick (Linda) and Johnny E. Kilpatrick (Penny).
