Jeff Aufill wrote a sympathy message

“My sincere condolences to Dave's family. May he rest in peace. It seemed Dave never met a stranger. He was quick-witted and could always make you laugh. Dave was a talented mandolin player, and I was fortunate to make music with him more times than I can count. Some of my fondest memories include Dave, and I know the large group of folks who knew him from the sailing community feel the same way. Fair winds Dave.”
