He is survived by: his children, Mary Davis (Tina) and Earl Wayne Sykes Jr. (Leslie); his wife Joyce Marks Sykes; his children, Derrick Sykes, Shermari Sykes, Christopher Marks and Kristel Marks; his grandchildren, Keaisha Davis, Tai Davis Derrick Sykes (Little), Hannah Sykes, Gabbriel Sykes, Samantha Sykes and DeShaun Marks; his great grandchildren, Preston and Carter Knighten; and his siblings, Beverly Sykes McDonald (Ernest), Jerrald D. Sykes (Ethel), Janet LaRosa Martin and Addrian N. K. Sykes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greater St Matthew Baptist Church (14919 S Main St, Houston, TX 77035). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Houston Memorial Gardens (2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581).
