Jimmy Leon Polson, passed away September 27, 2017, at home with his boots on, the love of his life, wife Billie Polson by his side, and his favorite songs playing.
Jimmy was born in Big Spring, Texas, the son of William Clifford Polson and Lucille Verna Hamm Polson. While he was still a youngster living in Mission, Texas he worked beside his father, in his oilfield service business. While attending Lamar University he went to work for Exxon Oil Company, where he retired after 37 years. During his employment with Exxon, he received several awards recognizing his outstanding performance, and a special recognition from the Governor of Louisiana. While working for Exxon he volunteered most of his vacation time for 17 years to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a Committee-man of Special Events. After his retirement from Exxon, he and his wife, Billie pursued several businesses together including owning and operating a restaurant in the Texas Hill Country, then back to the Texas Oil and Gas Industry as a Landman where he retired due to his health in 2012.
Jimmy loved listening to classical music, traveling to the tropics and riding horses in the water with his beloved, Billie. He was known for his bigger than Texas Personality, his John Wayne Style, and his Contagious Smile.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Polson; son, Jimmy Ashworth and wife Wendy, grandson, Kyler; daughter Misti Prock and husband Brian, grandsons, Baylan Vaughn, Asher Prock, and Cael Prock; daughter Evette Donnell; granddaughter, Amber Parr and partner Alina Shaler, great-granddaughter Emily Parr; grandson Blain Donnell and wife Desirae; grandson, Brice Beau Donnell and wife Aqueda; granddaughter, Shea Donnell; son Thomas Waddell; grandson, Journey Waddell, granddaughter, Jessica Barnhill; daughter, Yvonne Wood; sister, Barbara Burgin and husband Jim; niece, Heather Womble, grandnephew, John Womble; nephew, Brent Burgin, and wife Stacie, grandnephews, Justin Burgin and Kyle Burgin; brother-in-law, Don White; sister-in-law, Lydia Schneck and husband Dick, and numerous nieces and nephews; more than just friends, Lori Houston and husband Steve, Phyllis Ashley, Sandy Campbell and Laurie Bush; and his loyal four-legged companions Popcorn and Gizmo
