He was predeceased by: his parent Major DeWalt Sr.; his wife Classie DeWalt; his mother Mildred A. Dewalt; his siblings, Virginia Rae Cook Turner, Major Dewalt Jr., Mayme Louise Cook Aycock, Otis DeWalt and Frank M. DeWalt St; and his son-in-law George Lathom.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Craft Aver Lathom (Frank) and Geneva Morris Beverly (Wendell); and his sibling Myrdes J Lee. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
