It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Edward Buffum Sr. of Houston, Texas, born in Gulfport, Mississippi, who passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bell and Anna Louise Buffum (Fentress); his wife Elizabeth Buffum; his sister Peggy Sanders; and his brother-in-law Bill Froehner.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Buffum Hammel (Tadd Hammel) and John Edward Buffum Jr. (Amy Hungerford Buffum); his grandchildren, Jordyn Taylor Hammel, Max Hungerford Buffum and Jack Hungerford Buffum; his sister Nona Applegate (Nick); and his sister-in-law Pam Froehner. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
