She is survived by: her husband Wendle Van Smith; her children, Brandon Van Smith and Shelvia Alysse Smith; and her sisters, Lottie Clements, Dr. Louvenia Carter-Dawson (Leonard) and Lonetta Askew. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, godchildren, cousins, and friends.
