She was predeceased by: her son Eric Cortez; and her siblings, Tillie Bowman and Johnny Elizondo. She is survived by: her husband Herman Cortez (Refugio); her children, Regina Cortez of Houston, Sharon Cortez of Houston and Daryl Cortez of La Porte, Texas.; her siblings, Terri Perez (Pete Perez), Rachel Elizondo of Refugio and Chano Elizondo (Irma Elizondo) of San Antonio; and her granddaughter Erin Cortez.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Et San Jacinto Funeral Home (14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Et San Jacinto Cemetery (14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015). A committal service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Et San Jacinto Memorial Park (14659 East Fwy, Houston, TX 77015).
