It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Bernice Bissell in Houston, Texas, who passed away on November 21, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Bissell; her parents, Olga Bertha Lamkin (Pachal) and Alva Erasmus Lamkin (Ras); her brother Edward Howard Lamkin; and her grandson Gilbert Leroy Smith IV.
She is survived by: her children, Sarah Van Zandt Bay (Thomas Hulon Bay) and Gilbert Leroy Smith III; her grandchildren, Melissa Van Zandt Brown (Phillip Brogley Brown) and James Austin Bay (Sabrina Nicole); and her great grandchildren, Luke Owen Brown and Matthew Thomas Brown.
