He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elayne; his sibling Yehudit Shamir (Itzhak) of Moreland Hills, Ohio; and his sibling's children, Dan Shamir (Elizabeth) of Des Moines, Rachel Lapp (Aaron) of Israel, Daphne Soclof (Richard) of Beachwood, Beth Rotman and Adine Rotman.
