We are sad to announce that on February 1, 2025, at the age of 93, Robert Atwood Barner Jr. of Houston, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Atwood Barner and Bonnie Moore Barner; his significant other Mary Eduviges Segura (Nina); his daughter Barbara Gamez; his siblings, Bruce Barner (Dana) and Norma Rice (James); and his niece Donna Rice Tatum.
He is survived by: his nephews, Gavin Barner of Tennessee, Michael Barner of Tennessee, Kenny Barner of Tennessee and Robin Rice of Tennessee; his daughter Karen Barner; his grandchildren, Brian Cuellar, Bianca Martinez, Priscilla Allen and Clairise Gamez; and his great grandchildren, Isaiah Silva, Tyler Vallez, Anastasia Allen and Veronica Valdez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, if preferred, the family would like to request a donation to Shriner's Hospital for Children or the National Scleroderma Foundation.
