He was predeceased by: his parents, William Blair Smith Sr. and Nita Tharese Hewitt Smith; and his daughter Sharon Lynn Smith. He is survived by: his close friends, Benny Mumme and Michael Myers; his former wife Marian Welch Smith; his sister Glenda Smith; his children, Rana Smith Verret (Randy Verret), Dori Ellen Smith and Lydia Joy Smith; and his grandsons, Coren Frankel, Austin Frankel, Kimon Giomassis and Philip Giomassis.
