It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harrel G. Sanders (Iraan, Texas), who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sanders and Ruby Sanders; his former wife Dorothy Sanders (Ball); and his brothers, Spencer Sanders, Tommy Sanders and Bobby Sanders.

He is survived by: his wife Iraan; his children, Jan Sanders Bruce (Lynn), Sherry Sanders, James Sanders (Betty) and Ross Sanders; and his grandchildren, Jason Blanek (Melissa), Carie Cunningham (Chon), Jana Imler (Danny), Bethany Vicars, Juan Villanueva, Chris Sanders (Heather), Justin Sanders and Sara Aguerro (Eric).

“My condolence’s to Jan, Sherry & Family. Harrel was a very special individual. I met Harrel & Dottie my freshman year when his brother Bobby arrived to attend IHS. I recall my first embarrassing moment in life involving Jan & Bobby happened in front of Harrel in their home. A funny situation - no room here to tell the story. To me that day he was also the very polite & considerate individual everyone knew. He & Dottie made a special couple & I loved them both. I know you will miss him.”
