He was predeceased by: his parents, Merced Duarte and Gertrude Duarte; his son John; and his sons-in-law, Van, Skip and Billy.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his siblings, Frank, Lola and Mary; his daughters, Yolanda (Rod Bangert), Frances Dowdy and Teresa Gage; his grandchildren, Philip (Priscilla Gage), Susan (Mark Anderson), Walter (Julie Bangert), Jesse Gage (Sarah) and Kristin Gage (Tony); and his great grandchildren, Michael, Molly, James, Alice, Amy, Samantha, Ezra, Jody and Xochi.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (606 W Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062). A rosary will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Nazareth Catholic Church (2323 Cheyenne St, Irving, TX 75062).
Their kindness extended far beyond their home, from acts of charity to small but meaningful gestures that changed lives, like ensuring children had good shoes on their feet.
