He was predeceased by: his parents, J. H. Payne and Annie Mae Payne; his wife Bobbye Payne; his son Gary Lee Payne; his siblings, Jimmy, Roy Payne and Lily Coleman; his sister-in-law Patsy Murray; his sons, Mike Payne (Judy) of Henderson and Greg Payne of Nacogdoches; his granddaughter Jennifer Barr (Terry) of Katy; and his great grandchildren, Brendan and Megan Barr.
He is survived by: his brothers-in-law, Tony Murray (Lois) of Jacksonville, Joe Murray (Nancy) of Jacksonville and Tommy Murray (Barbara) of Jacksonville; and his cousin Don Payne of Bullard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
