He was predeceased by: his parents, Odis Bass and Ruth Bass (Higginbotham); and his brothers, Odis Bass Jr., Pallbearers, Rick Shelton, Sam Shelton, Chuck Wemp, Jim Fortner, Larry Harrellson and Chad Tomlinson.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his children, Craig (Debra Austin) of Dallas and Dana (Rick) of Cypress; his sister Shirley McAnally; his grandchildren, Derryck, Darryl and Sam; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Austin, Addy and Legend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacksonville College or cornerstone Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
