He was predeceased by : his parents, Zan May and Audie May; his siblings, Billie Jean Lawhorne, Bobbie Pruitt, Ruby Seago, Carolyn Wells, Asa May, Ray May, Roy May and Jimmy May; and his son Donny May.

He is survived by : his wife Mary; his sons, David May (Deb), Josh Hankins and Micah Hankins (Dionne); his grandchildren, Brooke May, Jaxson and Jonah Hankins; and his siblings, Reeta Frieze and Sammy May (Martha). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
