She was predeceased by : her parents, Nathaniel George Phelps and Dora Edith Phelps (Moon); her former life partner James S. Bates; her husband Clifford "Red" Connell; and her siblings, Don Kirby Phelps, Douglas Ray Phelps, Natalie Dora Roseland and Nancy Ruth Smith.

She is survived by : her daughters, Margie Sultemeier (Melvin), Linda Bates Seyler and Gail Coulter (Keith Bob); her siblings, Virgil Green Phelps (Gloria) and Cheryl Aileen Steaples (Don); her sister-in-law Ruth Phelps; her grandchildren, Justin Sultemeier (Tonya), Brian Sultemeier (Dawn), Megan Icke (Joshua), Codi Coulter and Josi Coulter; and her great grandchildren, Allison, MaKayla, Tyler, Jakob, Colt, Reed, Audrey and Emery. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and a host of dear friends.
