It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Dale Cox of Jonesboro, Texas, who passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Howard Cox and Mary Elizabeth Cox (Chandler); his sons, Robert Dale Cox Jr. (Desiree) and George Cox; his granddaughter Destiny Masha Adkins; and his siblings, Howard Lee Cox, Johnny Mack Cox, Millis Eugene Cox, Harvey Cox, Wayne Cox, Katy Louise Gravis, Daisy Mae Riley and Violet "Bit" Catron.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Elaine Rhymes; and his grandchildren, Anndrea Adkins, Adrian Adkins (Aj), Chadsidee Jones, Chadrick Jones (Bigboy), Alysia Cox, Danielle Cox, Matthew Wayne Cox Jr. (Little Matt), Robert Wayne Cox Jr. (Boogie Bear), Conner Hosick, Haylea Hosick, Lyla Hosick, Ezra Sexton, Dustin, Jonathan and Nick.
Viewing was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Weed Corley Fish South Funeral Home (2620 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704). A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Live Oak Cemetery (10739 Twin Creek Rd, Manchaca, TX 78652).
