He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Hickman and Geneva Hickman; his brother Thomas Hickman; his wife Donna; his daughters, Pricilla Martin (Jimmy) and Amanda "Nikki" Malone (Mike); his stepson David Mangum; his grandchildren, Devan McCollum (Maykol, Sr.), Dylan McCollum, Justin Martin, Derek Malone and Clairabell Mangum; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Loyola, Melaine Loyola and Maykol Loyola, Jr.; and his sister Betty Lewis. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
