He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward T. Whitmire and Pauline Whitmire; his siblings, Ruby Muncrief, Avie Gardener and Edward T. Whitmire Jr.; and his son-in-law Tom Atkins Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Lynn Whitmire; his children, Shonda Atkins, Mark and Karen Whitmire; and his grandchildren, Emily Atkins, T. J. Atkins III and Lacy Atkins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (210 W 3rd St, Quanah, TX 79252). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Methodist Church (1500 S Main St, Quanah, TX 79252).
The family asks that memorial donations in Clyde's honor be made to the First Methodist Church of Quanah or to another charity.
