He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse Z. Wood and Gertrude Wood (Pettigrew); his former life partner Gaylene Wood; and his daughter Martha Rodriguez. He is survived by : his former life partner Gaylene Spurgeon; his wife Roberta G. Wood of Kingsland; his children, Charles Wood of Harlingen, Texas, Linda Alphonse (Meinard) of Round Rock and Judy Schappell (Joel) of Winter Garden, Florida; his grandchildren, Francesca Wood, Charlie Wood, Natalie Wood, Jade Schappell and Justin Schappell, MD (Sarah Schappell); his sisters, Sarah Preston of Harrodsburg, Ruth Wilson of Louisville and Martha Walls of Jeffersontown, Kentucky; and his children-in-law, Silvia Wood and Marcus Rodriguez.
