He was predeceased by: his sister Kay Widup; and his parents, Harold Widup and Virginia Widup. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Widup; his children, Sharon Widup, Suzanne Widup and Stephen Widup (Lisa); his grandchildren, Sean (Meghan), Ethena and Audrey; his great grandchild Oakland; and his siblings, Joyce McKinley, Bob Widup, Joe Widup (Cheryl), Karl Widup (Jeannie) and Bill Widup (Debbie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins.

In leu of flowers please make a donation in George's name to the M.D. Anderson Caner Center.
