It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nannie LaVelle Whitehead of Kirbyville, Texas, who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arlis Morgan and Corene Morgan; her husband Walter Leon Whitehead; her son Michael Leon Whitehead; and her brothers, Donald Morgan, Dub Morgan, Johnny Morgan and Frank Morgan.
She is survived by: her children, Sidney Whitehead (Susan) of Brookeland, Texas, Matthew Whitehead of Brookeland, Texas and Pam Smith of Flower Mound, Texas; her daughter-in-law Sylvia Whitehead of Kirbyville; her aunt Jeanne Williams; her sister-in-law Judy Morgan of Jasper; her grandchildren, Trent, Chase May, Brady, Shelby Smylie, Griffin and Justin; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Lydia, Christopher, Michael, Charlotte, Fae and Eric.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jasper Church of Christ Youth Fund.
