He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Hortman; his parents, William Wylie Hortman and Bertha Curtis Barton; his siblings, William Wylie "Bill" Hortman Jr., Theople Pranke, Joyce Fulton and Ruby T Pedrotti; and his grandson Gatlin Carriker.
He is survived by: his children, Russ Hortman (Lara) and Shera Lisa Carriker (Greg); his grandchildren, Kiki Kurtz (Gaston), Jeace White (Zachary), Faith Taylor (Zachary), Miles Hortman, Casey Hortman, Jared Tomlinson (Katlin), Caleb Carriker (Login) and Devin Ruderer (Ross); and his great grandchildren, Lyra Kurtz, Kara Kurtz, Nathan Kurtz, Marlow White, Audie Taylor, Daphne Taylor, Brooks Tomlinson, Bryce Carriker, Xander Richardson, Aiden Ruderer and Easton Ruderer.
A graveside service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Old Hardin Cemetery. A burial was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Old Hardin Cemetery Old Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West End Church, Saratoga, Texas in Curtis's name.
