He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrie Pullen Havard and James Monroe Havard; and his brothers, Burnal Havard, Belvin Havard (Patsy) and Tommy Havard.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his brother Herbert Havard; his sons, James Mitchell Havard (Kimberly), Michael Clinton Havard (Amber) and Matthew Joseph Havard (Javonne); his stepsons, Gene Zunker and Jason Zunker (Biljana); and his sister-in-law Nancy Havard. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
