He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gilbert and Margaret Gilbert. He is survived by: his daughter Celena Gilbert; his brothers, Darryl Gilbert (JoAnn) and Gary Gilbert (Jennifer); and his nieces, Kaitlyn Gilbert, Jordan Gilbert and Jamie Gilbert.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
