With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Howard Sommerfeld of Lacy Lakeview, Texas, who passed away on October 20, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Sommerfeld and Sydonia Sommerfeld (Zander); his siblings, Jimmy Sommerfeld, John Ramsey and Cynthia Fenstad; and his stepfather Almot "Fritz" Sommerfeld.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sommerfeld of Lacy-Lakeview; his son Christopher Sommerfeld (Tiffany) of Moody; his grandchildren, Brooke Cumbo (Kevin), Carlie Geiswite, Owen Sommerfeld (Bella), Grayson Sommerfeld and Josephine Sommerfeld; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, Zoey, Aubrey and August; his sister Ellen Shields; and his siblings-in-law, Anthony Girard, Billy Girard (Karin Hutchinson), Charlie Girard, Susan Ramsey and Janie Niemeyer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel (808 S Reagan St, West, TX 76691). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the West Brethren Church (901 N Marable St, West, TX 76691).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help with his funeral expenses.
