He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Hugh Flood Sr. and Thelma Flood (Reece). He is survived by : his wife Lillian Bajer; his children, Lisa Johnson (Scott) of Baytown, Linda Johnson (Ted) of Denton, Gina Sundet of Houston, Kathleen Green (David) of Houston, Julie Avila (Andy) of McKinney, Jennifer Harvey (Greg) of Alvarado and Michael Flood (Erin) of Round Rock; his grandchildren, Carolyn, Oschlor, Chris, April, Tony, Carl IV, Ashlyn, Kristi, Merideth, Alex, Samantha, William, Hunter, Vicki, Thomas, Madeline, Evan and Lilianna; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Gabriella, Margaret and Carl V; his stepgrandchildren, Kyle, Alysa, Jacob, Tara, Sarah and Kevin; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Fallon, Easton, Emma, Parker, Audrey, Mikah and Everly; and his siblings, Joe Flood Jr. (Penny) and Mary Ellen Foley (David). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lago Vista.

“I'm so sorry to here about the passing of Coach Flood. I was lucky to have spend 3 of my last 5 years in coaching, working along side of him at St. Andrews. We had a great time every day. I know Coach Flood had a positive impact on the players that were under his leadership. Not just at St. Andrew's but everywhere he coached. Some of the players that he coached in Leander were also on that staff and they were a testament to the kind of man and coach that he was. He will be missed. Don Cowan”
