With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bobby J. Montgomery Sr. in Lampasas, Texas, born in Munday, Texas, who passed away on June 6, 2021 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Paul and Essie Mae Montgomery (Bridges); his wife Mildred Kay Montgomery; and his siblings, Leo, James Montgomery, Alice Philly, Patricia Montgomery and Mary Jo Bagwell.

He is survived by: his sons, Bob Montgomery, Jr. (Jennifer) and Dallas Montgomery (Michelle); his grandchildren, Yvonne Moreno of Lampasas, Erin, Brynn Montgomery of Lampasas, Kelly Montgomery of Michigan, Tyler Montgomery, Jennifer of Bay City, Amanda Shoulders, Joshua of Royse City and Kyle Moreno of Lampasas; and his great grandchildren, Lucas Poissot, Zander Montgomery of Lampasas, Dallas Jordan Montgomery of Michigan, Jenna Montgomery of Bay City and Cooper Shoulders of Royse City.

The family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“I will sooo miss talking with Bob about the Montgomery family. He always sent me a Christmas card and I always called him. We shared many stories about family. I felt blessed to have helped Bob find the missing pieces of the story about his Dad and the Governor of Texas who was his Commander in World War I and who discovered Jim was still alive after being gassed/shot and left for dead. Now he can be with the love of his life forever, Mildred who he has missed every day since her passing.”
