He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Jo Cawthra; and his brother Wiley Cawthra. He is survived by: his sons, Patrick Cawthra (Jonette Banks) and Anthony Cawthra; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Cawthra, Kendley Jo Cawthra, Noah Randall and Kristofer Randall; and his great grandchild Kaylex.
