We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2023, at the age of 81, James Virgil Hammett Jr. of Lampasas, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary Frances Casbeer Hammett and James Virgil Hammett; and his wife Deborah Allen Hammett. He is survived by : his close friend Candace Templet; his siblings, Richard Hammett and Susan Browder (Bill Browder); his daughters, Holly Hammett Norman (Lee Norman) and Mary Hammett Stevenson (Malcolm Stevenson); his stepson Allan Charles Wright, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Jack, Lily, James, Van, Deva, Gia and Violette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Library Foundation of Lampasas, Texas, 201 South Main Street, Lampasas, Texas, 76550.
