He was predeceased by : his parents, Rodney H. Amidon and Dorothy Bird Amidon; his son Jason R. Amidon; his grandson Julian Amidon; and his brother Rodney L. "Winkey" Amidon.

He is survived by : his wife Sharon Stockman; his children, Lucas M. Amidon and Lauren L. Jackson; and his siblings, Kenneth "Kenny" Amidon (Rene), Randy Amidon (Vickie), Judy Amidon Meredith (David) and Donna Amidon Kelley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“As Ronny's wife I would like to add that there were two sons-in-law, Waylon Oustad and Joseph Weever, one daughter-in-law, Amanda Amidon. Also 14 grand/great-grandchildren. Ronny spent much of his life in Burnet County, in the Lake Victor area.”
