She was predeceased by: her husband Oscar M. Laurel; her parents, Edgardo A. Gonzalez and Virginia Penn Gonzalez; her siblings, Alma Gloria Johnson and Edgardo A. Gonzalez, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Arturo Barrera.
She is survived by: her friend Peggy Newman; her cousin Sara Alicia Brittingham; her friend Phyllis Freed; her children, Elsa Laurel Nicholson and Oscar M. Laurel, Jr. (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Melissa L. Dominguez (David), Rosanna M. Barrera (David), Daniel J. Nicholson (Kristen), Oscar M. Laurel, III and Lorenzo Z. Laurel; her great grandchildren, Graciela, Sofia, Liliana Dominguez, Bryden and Lola Barrera; and her sister Virginia G. Barrera. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
