He was predeceased by: his parents, Moises Montoya and Maria Andrea Sanchez; and his sister Esther Montoya. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Maria Montoya; his children, Juan Montoya Jr. (Marilou), Cynthia Irene Montoya, Eligio Montoya (Cynthia) and Rosa Concepcion Montoya; and his siblings, Fidencia Montoya, Josefina Montoya and Mario Montoya. He is also survived by 12 granchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1029 Bob Bullock Lp #1, Laredo, TX 78043). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Santa Rita de Casia Catholic Church (1001 Espejo Molina Rd, Laredo, TX 78046).
