He was predeceased by: his parents, Reducindo Paez and Otila R. Paez; and his brother Jorge Luis Paez. He is survived by: his sisters, Otila P. and Yolanda Paez Rocha; his children, Oscar R. Paez, Jr. and Amanda McCaleb (Chad); the mother of his children Olga Paez; and his grandchildren, Vaden C. McCaleb and Olivia Denay McCaleb. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
