She was predeceased by: her husband James Donald Phillips; her parents, William "Bill" McKenzie and Dorothy McKenzie; her mother-in-law Bessie Phillips Starnes; and her brother-in-law Guy Gillespie.
She is survived by: her sons, James William Johnson of League City, Russell Todd Phillips of Houston and Troy Don Phillips of Willow Park, Texas; her sister Beverly Ann Gillespie of Dickinson; her grandchildren, Emily Ann Tyson (Larry) of Orange, Texas, James William "Jimmy" Johnson Jr. (Genie) of Dickinson, Elizabeth Abigail Wilson (Aaron) of Houston and Zoe Alexis Phillips of New York City; her great grandchildren, Hallie Eloise Hogue, Haden James Philip Hogue of El Lago and Kendall James Johnson of Dickinson; her daughters-in-law, Tammy Gravitt of League City, Karen Phillips of Houston and Mary Jane Self Phillips of Fort Worth; and her siblings-in-law, Dolores "Loree" Strege of League City, Laverne Pratt of Dickinson and Kenneth Phillips of Stavanger. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Park East Funeral Home (21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
