It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Salvatore Theodore Joseph Vetrano Jr. of Leakey, Texas, who passed away at the age of 92, on April 6, 2023. He was predeceased by : his parents, Evelyn Fullenbach Vetrano and Salvatore Theodore Vetrano; his siblings, Pauline Ciriello and William Vetrano; his granddaughter Terasa Scarbrough Minice; his mother-in-law Alice Hegwer; and his sister-in-law Andra Smith.

He is survived by : his former life partner Alice Ridgeway; his wife Winnie Mae Hegwer; his children, Becky Scarbrough (Tom) of Peoria, AZ and Jeff Vetrano (Ann) of Gilbert, AZ; his adoptive daughter Keleigh Linebrink (Sean) of Frisco, TX; his sisters, Gloria Schroeder of West Hebron, NY and Dolores Holler of Ohio; his grandchildren, Jennifer Vetrano, Jason Vetrano (Jessica), Jeremy Vetrano (Tessa) and Daniel Scarbrough; and his brother-in-law Allen Hegwer. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trinity Lutheran Church Custodial Fund, Uvalde; the Miles-James Post 489 American Legion, Leakey; Peterson Hospice, Kerrville; Hosanna Lutheran Church, Kerrville, or a charity of your choice.

Lisa Schroeder wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Winny, I don't know who else to send this, but no one ever told me Uncle Sal was ill. My brother told me he passed away when I contacted him and my mom (Gloria) for Easter. Uncle Sal was my favorite uncle even though we didn't stay in contact much. We both had a fondness for horses. You visited my husband and me at our new home in Willsboro, NY, many years ago. I'm sorry to learn he has left us. I also hope and pray you are holding up. All my sympathy -Lisa Schroeder (Dybas).”
