He was predeceased by: his mother Elizebeth Baker Giles; his stepfather Frank Giles; his father James Edward Roache; his stepmother Joyce Roache of Livonia, MI; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Helga Lampman of Encinitas, CA; his son Ronald J. Roache of San Diego, CA; and his siblings-in-law, Roger W. Lampman and Sue Roache of Elk Rapids, MI.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Roache of Liberty Hill, TX; his daughter Keri Giordino; his son-in-law Joe Giordino of Lago Vista, TX; his grandchildren, Stephen Janak (Kelsie) of Frisco, TX, James Janak of Cedar Park, TX, Kristin Janak of Austin, TX and Laura Giordino Garcia (Jon Garcia) of Gilbert, AZ; his great grandchildren, Liam and Jacoby of Gilbert, AZ; his grandson Andrew Giordino; his great grandchildren, Ivory Sue and Gretzie; his brothers, Tim Roache of Elk Rapids, MI and Daniel Roache; and his siblings-in-law, Susan (Katie Jarvis) of Petoskey, MI, Tom of Dexter, MI, Ray Lampman, Virginia'Dee' of Escondido, CA and Marilyn Lampman of Comfort, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“Jeannette and family, It is with great sorrow to learn of Jim's passing. He was a good friend and mentor to many. I will always be grateful to him for the opportunities and trust he had in me. I came to know Jim in 1984 while he was the Lieutenant in personnel. That assignment took me on a journey throughout my career that would have us working together for years to come. He was loyal and honest and deserved only the best. His memory will live on in those who truly knew him. Liz Foster”
