She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall David and Jewel Katherine Murphy (Brewer); her husband Mike Rutherford; and her brothers, Joe and James Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Downing of Red Springs, Lela Maple (Craig) of Mineola and Ben Alford Jr. (Alice) of St. Charles, Missouri; her siblings, Marcille Kartes of Seattle, Washington and Dan Murphy of Mineola; and her grandchildren, Lindsay, Jessica, Chelsea, Joshua, Meagan, Stephanie, Mason, Stephanie H., Nathanael, Matthew, Sarah, Alex and Megan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home (206 W South St, Lindale, TX 75771). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Red Springs Baptist Church (131 Farm To Market 16 E, Tyler, TX 75706).
