He was predeceased by : his father Melvin Elliott Nesmith, Sr.. He is survived by : his children, Destiny Shirley (Robert) of Livingston, Kelsie Hodge (Doyle, Jr.) of Onalaska, Texas and Melvin Elliott Nesmith III (Maci) of Livingston, Texas; his mother Faye Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; his wife Penni Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; his sons, Coty Nesmith, Hunter Nesmith, Wayne Nesmith, Tremorian Nesmith, Carter Wright and Elijah Davis; his siblings, Tommy Nesmith (Marsha) of Livingston, Texas and Jojuanna Nesmith of Livingston, Texas; and his uncle Homer Nesmith (Sharon) of Livingston, Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home (406 N Yaupon Ave, Livingston, TX 77351). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
