As we bid Betty farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Betty is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Judge Wesley Shomette and Nettie Belle Shomette (Mealer); her husband H. T. Wright, Jr.; her son Mark Wright; and her siblings, Bob Shomette, Bill Shomette, Merle Cutshall, Nell Meil and Doug Shomette.
She is survived by: her sons, Terry (Peggy) and Kerry; and her brother Tommie (Phyllis). She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren and her seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the McCurdy Funeral Home (105 E Pecan St, Lockhart, TX 78644). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
