He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe L. Fitzgerald and Fannie Sherrod Fitzgerald; his wife Gaynelle Cabbiness Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Dutch, Olen, Roland, George, Roy, Jack Fitzgerald, Zuella Harris, Beatrice Dudley, Mayvon Kochin and Violet Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his son Freddie R. Fitzgerald (Lisa Weaver); his grandchildren, Freddie W. Fitzgerald and Courtney Faith Fitzgerald; and his close friends, Kathy Hendricks and Ted Paul. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
