He was predeceased by: his parents, Modesto Barrera and Ignacia Martinez Barrera. He is survived by: his wife Maria Garcia Barrera; his children, Anne B. Vasquez, Alicia Barrera and Fidel Barrera Jr. (Anisa); his siblings, Rafael Barrera, Modesto Barrera Jr., Guadalupe Barrera, Camila B. Rocha, Yolanda Barrera, Fermin Barrera and Andres Hunt; and his grandchildren, Iris Pena Garcia, Magdaleno Pena Jr., Amanda Vasquez, Malcolm Pena, Fernando Vasquez Jr., Ryan Barrera, Megan Vasquez and Troy Barrera. He is also survived by his 13 great-grandchildren.
