He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Castillo Castro; his mother Olivia Castro; and his brother Ernesto Castro. He is survived by: his daughters, Silvia Khaleghi (Siavash), Christina Mendez (David), Lisa Castro (Jesus Martinez), Lorena Castro and Olivia Castro; his grandchildren, David Joseph, Catalina Mendez, Alec Khaleghi (Julia), Leily and Nathen Khaleghi; and his great grandchild Waverly Khaleghi. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law as well as sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Los Cuates Cemetery.
