He was predeceased by: his parents, Esteban Benitez and Juanita Benitez; and his siblings, Juan, Esteban Benitez Jr., Andrea Gutierrez, Juanita DeLeon, Lupe Lopez and Elvira Velez.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy Benitez; his children, Julie Benitez Trevino (Alejandro) and Christopher Trevino; his grandson Dallas Benitez of Lansing, MI; his stepchildren, Anbrocio Ledesma (Lucy) of Grand Rapids, MI and Anita Ledesma of Lansing, MI.; and his siblings, David Benitez (Anna), Jose Benitez (Yolanda), Thomas Benitez (Letty) of Lubbock, TX., Benita DeLeon and Mary DeLeon of Lubbock, TX.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
