He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastacio Sr. Tijerina and Maria Tijerina (Ramirez); his wife Maria Sofia Tijerina; his siblings, Anastacio, Cosme, Miguel, Francisco, Cruz Tijerina and Mary T. Davila; his son John Paul Tijerina; and his grandson Jason Tijerina.
He is survived by: his children, Jesse Tijerina (Helen), Jaime Tijerina, Aida Garcia (Albert C.), Yolanda Carranco, Ninfa Flores (Joe) and Linda Landin (Joe L.); and his sister Elubinia Sampayo of Lubbock. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Sanders Memorial Chapel (1420 Main St, Lubbock, TX 79401). A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (3111 Erskine St, Lubbock, TX 79415).
