He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Kirkland and Trudy Kirkland; his wife Betty Lackey; his daughter Valerie; his friend Weedon; and his siblings, Helen Reid, Dorothy Scavone, Juanita Barnett, W. T. Bo Kirkland and James Kirkland.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff (Tammy) of Littlefield and Glenn (Shanna) of Cotton Center. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Cotton Center or Texas Boys Ranch.
